Skip Bayless Says Patrick Beverley Is Currently A Better Player Than Russell Westbrook

The Los Angeles Lakers raised eyebrows earlier this week when they decided to send Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson to the Utah Jazz in exchange for defensive-minded combo guard Patrick Beverley.

It’s no secret that Beverley and Lakers point guard Russell Westbrook have had their fair share of heated battles and smack-talking ways. Though the general assumption is that Westbrook will be out of the team eventually, NBA fans and pundits still couldn’t help but speculate how the two players could co-exist if a Westbrook trade doesn’t push through.

NBA analyst Skip Bayless shared his thoughts on the topic during his appearance on Undisputed. According to Bayless, Beverley is going to steal significant minutes from Westbrook since he believes that Beverley is currently better than the 33-year old Lakers star.

“Now Patrick is gonna take some, if not a whole lot, of Westbrook’s minutes,” Bayless said. “Because Shannon in the end, with God as my witness, what I believe here is, Patrick Beverley right now is better than Russell Westbrook. He’s more valuable in so many ways. He’s a better three-point shooter, he’s a better playmaker. He makes all the right plays.”
