Shaquille O’Neal Says The Los Angeles Lakers Will Never Win A Championship If They Trade LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers have dug themselves into a serious hole, and with their situation from here on out looking a bit uncertain, some observers have pondered whether it’s time for the Los Angeles Lakers to move on from LeBron James.

There’s no mistake that LeBron is still one of the best players in the game today. He’s still balling at age 37 and is averaging 29.0 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game on 51.9% shooting from the field. However, the four-time NBA champion isn’t getting any younger, and loyalty has always been a questionable subject for him.

While some people believe it would be wise for the Lakers to trade LeBron before he leaves them or show signs of decline, NBA Hall of Famer and now-TV personality Shaquille O’Neal said that the Lakers will never win again if they trade the 37-year old superstar.

Per CNBC:

“If you trade LeBron, you’ll never win again,” O’Neal said of the Lakers in an interview with CNBC.

“If you put LeBron around the right guys, they are definitely going to win,” he said. “I think whoever put the team together needs to step up and try and fix it.”
