Retired NBA Player Believes Joel Embiid Could Lead The Philadelphia 76ers To NBA Finals

It didn’t take too long for the Philadelphia 76ers to make a coaching change after a disappointing first-round loss against the Boston Celtics in the recent NBA playoffs.

While the Sixers played without two-time All-Star Ben Simmons, the playoff collapse came as a no surprise no matter what, as the team was evidently facing terrible issues all season long.

Determined to put the Sixers in the right direction, the front-office made a strong move to sign former Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers who is now expected to unlock the potential of this Sixers team, as well as the combination of both Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.

In a recent interview, retired NBA player Tim Legler who now works as an NBA analyst, shared his opinion on how Doc Rivers should embrace the challenge of coaching Embiid and bringing the best out of the promising young big man whom Legler sees a guy who could lead the Sixers to the finals.

“If I’m Doc Rivers, I’m posing that to him (Joel Embiid). Like, ‘Listen, I’m going to do everything I can to help you schematically. We’re going to do things differently here. You’re going to like what we’re going to do,” Legler mentioned.

“And he might say all of the right things. The question is we have to see if how he shows up and conducts himself throughout the season… He (Joel Embiid) absolutely could get this team to the Finals,” Legler added.
