NBA Executive On The Brooklyn Nets: “They Could Be The Best Regular Season Team In The East”

The Brooklyn Nets are now expected to run it back with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant amid the trade rumblings and offseason drama. This is after Nets general manager Sean Marks issued a statement that Durant and the rest of the organization are on board with forwarding their partnership.

This now means that the Nets may finally debut their new-look “Big 3” of Irving, Durant and Ben Simmons that we never got to see last year due to Simmons’ unavailability. Furthermore, the Nets have added TJ Warren to the mix, while welcoming the likes of Seth Curry, Joe Harris and Patty Mills.

From a general perspective, there are less expectations and hype for the Nets heading into the next NBA season. However, one Western Conference executive believes that the Nets are ready to compete among the top teams in the Eastern Conference, suggesting that the new-look Nets could end up as the best regular team in the East.

Per HoopsHype:

“I think the Nets could be the best regular season team in the East,” one Western Conference general manager told HoopsHype. “I don’t think they will be, but I think they could be. I think they’re probably a top-four team in the East with Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Boston.”
