Magic Johnson Echoes Stephen Curry’s Case For MVP: “Hard To Deny”

He may not be dominating the headlines for MVP this year, but Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is having quite a season in spite of the adversities that he and the Warriors have been facing all year.

Curry is averaging 31.0 points (career-high), 5.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game on 49.1% shooting from the field so far this season. Without Klay Thompson, Curry has led the Warriors to the ninth seed in the Western Conference, putting them in contention for a play-in tournament.

With the way he’s playing, it’s common for Curry to spark some MVP buzz every now and then. After showing off in the last 10 games, averaging 39.1 points on 54.6% shooting while leading the Warriors to a 6-2 record, more observers have decided to take notice.

One such person was Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson, who made it to Twitter and echoed Curry’s MVP candidacy.

“It’s hard to deny Steph Curry from being the NBA’s MVP! He is the #1, #2, and #3 option for the Warriors and is STILL dominating!!”
