LeBron James Frustrated After Lakers’ Next Loss: “[Bronny] Could Play For Us Right Now. Easy!”

In March of last year, LeBron James raised some eyebrows, when he said that his eldest son Bronny James, who then had just committed to USC, already was ‘definitely better’ than some NBA players.

Back then, this caused some controversy with some saying LeBron was delusional, and others, like Paul George and DeMar DeRozan agreeing with James.

Fast forward to today. Bronny James thankfully has fully recovered from his scary cardiac arrest he suffered during practice at USC in last July, and is back on the court.

With LeBron James’ Lakers struggling, having won only two of their last 11 games, the four-time champion now doubled down on last year’s statement. After the Lakers’ loss to the Grizzlies on Friday, LeBron, who finished with 32 points, five rebounds, seven assists and five steals, criticized his team by bringing up his son:

“He could play for us right now. Easy. EASY!”

James has repeatedly made it clear that he’s interested in playing with his son in the NBA. Consequently, there’s much talk about whether teams would be willing to draft Bronny as a means to lure LeBron onto their team.

To be fair, Bronny is a decent player in his own right, known as a combo guard with a reputation for athleticism and defensive skills. But, he hasn’t proven much on the floor, yet, and even before, he was projected to be a mid to late first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. The bigger draw, however, is LeBron, especially if he decides to follow Bronny to whichever team drafts him.

So whether or not he’s the best prospect available, there may be some teams willing to take a chance on Bronny to lure his father to their franchise.
