Klay Thompson Says Kevin Durant Helped Him In Recovery, By Inspiring Him To Get Back To His All-Star Form

Last season, Klay Thompson had been getting back into form, after his long-awaited comeback, only to be his best again come playoff time.

After working his way back following the torn ACL he suffered during the 2019 NBA Finals, Thompson received another devastating blow, when an injury he suffered in last year’s offseason turned out to be an Achilles tear.

But his hard work and strong will paid off, as Thompson was able to help the Warriors win the 2022 NBA Championship, and collect his title number four.

Thompson now revealed that it was Kevin Durant who helped him in his recovery, because he was someone he could draw inspiration from, and see that there is a way back to full strength after suffering such devastating injury.

“My confidence and my movements, defensively especially, shooting the ball. I thought I had a great playoffs. Didn’t shoot the ball as well as I wanted to in the Finals but I made big shots when it mattered most and I know I’m gonna be back to All-Star form. And you know who actually inspired me the most is Kevin Durant because Kevin went through the same thing and then he led the league in scoring. If he can get back to being himself, I know I can as well.”
