JJ Redick Absolutely Destroys Chris Russo On Air And He’s 100% Right

ESPN has always had its fair share of controversial personalities. This is what draws the attention and generates some headlines. And it seems to have worked out once again.

Chris “Mad Dog” Russo and J.J. Redick squared off about how the media talks about athletes. The debate was started because they were talking Draymond Green’s ejection in Game 1 as well as him addressing his Game 2 incident with Memphis fans.

When Russo then said he’s fed up with athletes talking instead of playing – using a wording similar to the ‘shut up and dribble’ debate, JJ Redick had enough and went at Russo.

“That has the same sort of connotations that ‘shut up and dribble’ has toward athletes. And I have a real problem with that, specifically with Draymond. The idea that America is tired of him — you do realize that the guy has a very, very popular podcast that he hosts where he talks, himself, for the majority of the episode?…

… Just like in this press conference, he is real, authentic and unfiltered … it’s what makes him great, it’s what makes him a future Hall of Famer, it’s the reason he is who he is.”
