Jimmy Butler Is ‘Fed Up’ With Karl-Anthony Towns, Wants To Play With Kyrie Irving

About one year ago, Jimmy Butler was guest on First Take when the question on who he would love to play with came up. His answer: Kyrie Irving.

Butler not only would pick Irving, he also said that Kyrie is his favorite player in the league. The sympathy is mutual as the two even looked into teaming up last summer, but the Chicago Bulls ended up trading Butler to the Timberwolves.

Now, after his first season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Butler and Irving are planning to team up again. If not this summer, then next year.

Irving won’t sign an extension with Boston, Butler won’t sign one with Minnesota and is “all but fed up with the nonchalant attitude of his younger teammates,” mostly with Karl-Anthony Towns.

Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, reported:

A league source close to the situation told the Sun-Times on Tuesday that Kyrie Irving and former Bulls All-Star Jimmy Butler are still trying to figure out a way to play together.

As for Butler, a league source said that he also has no intentions of signing an extension with Minnesota, all but fed up with the nonchalant attitude of his younger teammates, specifically Karl-Anthony Towns.

Maybe we’ll see the two team up this season already, as both their teams may have an interest in trading them now and getting something in return, than losing both for nothing next year, when they’ll be heading toward a 2019 unrestricted free agency.
