Golden State Warriors Staff Visited San Quentin To Play Pickup Game Against Inmates

For the sixth year in a row, the Golden State Warriors paid a visit to San Quentin State Prison to play a pickup game against the best inmates.

Inmates have to go through tryouts in order to make the team that will play against the staffers of the NBA Champion. This year, for only the second time, the inmates won the game that came down the line.

During the 103-102 inmate victory, Warriors General Manager was the best player on the court, finishing with 32 points and 31 rebounds.

JaVale McGee was part of the trip, and even though he wasn’t part of the team, he was the center of attention, due to him bringing the Larry O’Brien trophy along.

This event is something the San Quentin inmates look foward to all year. One inmate said:

“A big shoutout to the Warriors community for not giving up on us, and giving us inspiration and motivation to keep pushing forward to turning this negative situation into something positive.”

Kudos to the Warriors!
