Giannis Antetokounmpo Says LeBron James Is Still The Best Player In The World

At age 27, Giannis Antetokounmpo has built up quite a resume highlighted by an NBA championship, an NBA Finals MVP, two Most Valuable Player of the Year awards, a Defensive Player of the Year honor, and six NBA All-Star appearances.

The Greek Freak is part of every conversation regarding the best player in the world. While the label seems fitting for him, Antetokounmpo isn’t interested in being called as one.

Giannis is currently with the Greek national team for the upcoming EuroBasket 2022. When one journalist called him the best player in the world during an interview last week, Giannis was quick to downplay the compliment.

Now, the two-time MVP even went a step further and revealed that he believes LeBron James still is the best player in the NBA.

Per Marca Basket:

“It’s interesting to me how LeBron is still [in] one of the best shapes [of] his life and being the best player in the world and still being in year 18. Like, that’s really interesting. I want to know how he does that. He’s been consistent for 18 years. He’s always there. He’s always showing up. That’s unbelievable.

“He obviously gets credit, but I think we’ve got to give him more credit. Doing it for 18 years guys, that’s hard. And hopefully, hopefully I can be there. Hopefully, I can do this for 18 years, 20 years. That’s the goal.”
