Dwight Howard On Kobe Bryant Calling Him Soft: ‘I Hated Him For That Moment’

Do you remember the what was supposed to be Lakers Superteam?

Steve Nash – Kobe Bryant – Metta World Peace – Pau Gasol – Dwight Howard

Well, this experiment failed miserably. Nash and Howard were injured a lot, and even when playing, Dwight Howard was only a shadow of his Orando-self. On top of that, him and Kobe Bryant got into arguements all the time.

Thinking back, everybody has Kobe Bryant saying ‘SOOOOOOOFT’ in their minds. Kobe famously called out Howard after he was traded to the Houston Rockets. During a recent interview on FS1’s ‘FAIRGAME’ with Kristine Leahy, Dwight said that he “hated” Kobe at the time for those remarks.

“He had a comment about me being soft. And I think for years, I kinda hated him for saying that. Because I looked at it the wrong way. I think he was more so talking about my mentality. Not my physique, not how I am on the court. Like my edge. And I didn’t realize that because of all the noise surrounding him saying I was soft. And I hated it. I hated him for that moment. But I realized what he was talking about.”
