Dillon Brooks Floated As A Potential Trade Candidate For The Philadelphia 76ers

Dillon Brooks just became a member of the Houston Rockets this past offseason. However, could there be a chance that Brooks finds himself in another team’s roster before the 2023-24 NBA season concludes?

Brooks is undoubtedly one of the more frequently mocked figures in the NBA, primarily due to his notorious villain role. Nevertheless, this outspoken NBA swingman is a vital asset for any squad in need of a culture setter and a 3-and-D player.

Brooks is currently averaging 15.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game on 59.0% shooting from the field in his first four games with the Rockets. However, this performance has not exactly translated into wins, as the Rockets have started the season with a 1-3 record.

Considering the situation, Yossi Gozlan of HoopsHype sees Brooks as a potential trade candidate for the Philadelphia 76ers, who are reshuffling their roster after trading James Harden and are believed to be exploring other options to complement reigning MVP Joel Embiid.

“If the Rockets are unable to reach expectation as we get closer to the trade deadline, that could spark some changes to the roster. They’ll likely first look to see how they could improve the roster with a package of draft picks and expiring contracts. But if things get uglier than they hoped, perhaps that could put their recently signed veterans on the trade market. Brooks would be a great fit on the Sixers, who could use an All-Defensive perimeter defender like him.”
