David Stern Thinks Golden State Warriors’ Dominance Is Great For The NBA

The Golden State Warriors are on the verge of becoming the NBA’s next great dynasty. The Warriors have won three of the last four NBA titles (losing the Finals in that other year) and are the huge favorites to repeat this season, too.

The team seems to be stronger this season once again, and it isn’t unlikely that the Warriors will end the season winning their 4th championship in 5 years.

Many fans aren’t too big of a fan of these Warriors and think that because of them the league has become too boring and predictable.

But according to former NBA commissioner David Stern, the Warriors’ dominance is actually beneficial for the NBA.

Per Sports Illustrated:

“It’s great. They’ve got a great team,” said Stern. “Interesting players, a dynamic coach, owners that demonstrate that they care, they’re about to open up a billion-dollar-plus building…. I think it’s only good. And I don’t believe in the debate about superteams, because when I started there were two superteams: the Celtics and Lakers…. Look at the attendance and the ratings and the product sales. We’re the most metricized business there is, and all signs are positive.”
