Darius Garland Predicts Cleveland Cavaliers Will Make The Eastern Conference Finals Next Season

The Cleveland Cavaliers were one of the biggest surprises last season regardless of the outcome of their season. With Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley at the helm, the Cavs raced out to a great start last season and even managed to become a top-three team in the Eastern Conference at one point.

However, a series of injuries derailed what was a very promising campaign for the young Cavaliers team. Their key players all missed a chunk of games, with Allen and Mobley getting injured at a crucial time of their campaign.

After a great first half, the Cavaliers saw themselves sliding out of the playoff picture and eventually falling out of the play-in tournament, losing to Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks. The Cavs finished the season as the 9th seed with a 44-38 record.

Despite falling short last season, Cavaliers young All-Star Darius Garland isn’t losing sight of what’s yet to come for their team ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season. Appearing on “Varsity House” podcast, the 22-year old even predicted that the Cavaliers will make it to the Eastern Conference Finals next year.

Per Cavaliers Nation:

“I think we can get even better,” he said. “I think we can make it to the Eastern Conference Finals next year for sure. We’re coming back with a chip on our shoulder. … We’re a young team. Like you said, we battled through a lot of adversity this season. So, it was cool just being there, but we not satisfied. We all in. We all ready to rock and roll.”
