CJ McCollum Will Likely Be Back On Court Next Week, Fully Participated In Practice After Collapsed Lung

On November 5, New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum suffered a small pneumothorax in his right lung.

It is the second time this has happened in McCollum’s career, as he was diagnosed with a pneumothorax in December 2021.

While it took around five weeks for the star guard to return on the court in 2021, things are looking more promising this time.

McCollum first was a full participant in Tuesday’s practice, and while he remains without a clear return timetable, he seems to have been cleared for basketball activities. CJ missed his 11th straight game Saturday, but in Monday’s game against the Utah Jazz, he may be his giving his comeback.
Through his six games played this season, the veteran guard was able to average an impressive 21.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.5 steals for the Pelicans.
