Ben Simmons Got Advice From Allen Iverson After Game 2

Game 2 between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers was the worst game in Ben Simmons’ young, yet amazing, NBA career. He finished with only one point and five turnovers in the loss, and wasn’t able to make a field goal for the first time since joining the Sixers.

But after the game, he got some major encouragement by one of Philadelphia’s greatest sons – Allen Iverson. Yesterday, Simmons told reporters about a call he had with Iverson after the game:

via The Philadelphia Inquirer:

Before practice, he spoke with Iverson, who Simmons said offered some good advice.

“I heard he wanted to talk to me so I got on the phone with him and he gave me words of encouragement,” Simmons said.

And those words were?

“He said play the game I know how to play,” Simmons said. “That is just second nature to me.”

But again, it only was one bad game in what is one of the greatest rookie seasons of the millennium. Simmons will bounce back and remains confident for Game 3 later today.
