Anthony Davis Reportedly Felt Frustrated That Dennis Schröder Couldn’t Give Him The Kind Of Looks That Rajon Rondo Did Before

Dennis Schröder has find himself at the forefront of NBA headlines once again, but it’s no longer about his contract situation, but a matter of his point guard play with the Los Angeles Lakers last season.

The Lakers landed the 27-year old point guard in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder prior to the start of the 2021 NBA season in hopes to add more productivity at the point guard position, particularly help take some of the playmaking burden off LeBron James.

Regular season-wise, Schröder was no slouch and averaged 15.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game on 43.7% shooting. Schröder’s postseason play however, was a total letdown which became a big factor to the Lakers’ decision of letting him walk in free agency.

On top of that, it is now being reported that Schröder just didn’t quite mix well with Lakers big man Anthony Davis, as Davis was reportedly frustrated that Schröder wasn’t able to give him the kind of looks that Rajon Rondo did a year earlier.

Per Bleacher Report:

Per an NBA source familiar with some of the Lakers’ struggles through the 2020-21 campaign, Davis felt some frustration that he wasn’t getting the kind of looks in the post with Dennis Schroder running the point compared to those he received with Rondo a year earlier.
