Anne Hathaway Proves Her Knicks Knowledge While Explaining OG Anunoby To Dakota Johnson And Josh Hartnett

Anne Hathaway may be an Oscar winner, but her latest viral moment had nothing to do with movies.

During an appearance on First We Feast alongside Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, the cast of Verity played a guessing game called “Wildcard,” where one person had to identify the name written on a card held to their forehead. When Hathaway drew OG Anunoby, her co-stars were far less familiar with the Knicks forward.

Johnson was so confused by the name that she initially questioned whether Anunoby was even a real person. Hartnett eventually offered Hathaway enough of a clue for her to correctly guess the Knicks star.

From there, Hathaway immediately shifted into full Knicks-fan mode.

She explained Anunoby’s significance by pointing to his dramatic basket in Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals, praising the play as one of the defining moments of the series. Hathaway described it as “poetry in motion” and “divine” while trying to bring Johnson and Hartnett up to speed on exactly why Knicks fans hold the moment in such high regard.

The exchange fit perfectly with Hathaway’s long-established connection to New York basketball.

A New York native and lifelong Knicks fan, she has repeatedly spoken publicly about her love for the team. She recently revealed that Anunoby had sent her a signed jersey, and she even joked on The Tonight Show that she would choose another Knicks championship over winning a second Academy Award.
