Jimmy Butler has built a reputation as one of basketball’s toughest competitors, but a surprise snake was enough to send the NBA star flying out of his chair.
In a video circulating across social media, Butler is seated with a small group while a magician performs what initially appears to be an ordinary card trick. The mood changes instantly when the performer opens a playing-card box and suddenly produces what appears to be a snake.
Butler reacts without hesitation. He screams, jumps backward out of his seat and quickly creates as much distance as possible between himself and the unexpected reptile. The people around him immediately break into laughter as Butler attempts to recover from the scare.

His dramatic response quickly became the main attraction. Butler has faced hostile playoff crowds, physical defenders and the pressure of late-game possessions, but none of that prepared him for something slithering out of a card box at close range.
