Pistons Win Game 7 In Detroit To Eliminate Magic

Detroit did not need a miracle in Game 7. It needed a second quarter.

The Pistons beat the Orlando Magic 116-94 at Little Caesars Arena, taking control with a 40-point second quarter and never letting the series breathe again. After seven games of pressure, collapses, counters and young-team nerves, Detroit found clarity at the exact moment Orlando ran out of answers.

Cade Cunningham played like a franchise guard ready for the next room: 32 points, 12 assists, four made threes and total command of the floor. Tobias Harris was just as important, scoring 30 on 11-for-18 shooting and punishing every defensive hesitation. Jalen Duren added 15 points and 15 rebounds, giving Detroit the physical base it needed to withstand Paolo Banchero’s final push.

Banchero did everything he could for Orlando, finishing with 38 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Desmond Bane added 16, but the Magic never recovered once Detroit’s offense opened up in the second quarter. Game 6 had been about Orlando’s historic shooting collapse. Game 7 became about whether the Magic could leave that memory behind. They could not.

Detroit did not just survive the series. It grew through it. The Pistons took Orlando’s best player’s best shot, answered with balance, and turned a deciding game into a breakthrough. For the Magic, the offseason begins with a hard truth: progress is real, but the first round is still a wall they have not climbed.
