Trae Young’s Atlanta Home Hitting The Market Feels Like The Final Step In A Fresh Start

Trae Young’s break with Atlanta now extends beyond basketball. Less than two months after the four-time All-Star was traded from the Hawks to the Washington Wizards, his Atlanta home has been listed for $8.17 million, adding a real-estate chapter to one of the NBA’s more notable midseason changes. Mansion Global reported that the property was listed in mid-February through Christie’s International Real Estate agents Leigh and Michael Schiff.

The house itself is as substantial as Young’s status in the city once was. According to the listing details cited by Mansion Global, the contemporary two-story residence sits on a 2.5-acre lot on Kenbrook Way in Sandy Springs, spans 11,066 square feet, and includes six bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. The home, built in 2022, blends Mediterranean arches, iron-framed windows and bright, open interiors, the kind of design language that signals both privacy and polish.

Seen through a basketball lens, the timing is hard to ignore. Young spent the first eight seasons of his NBA career with the Hawks and made four All-Star teams during that run before Atlanta traded him to Washington in January. The deal sent Young to the Wizards in exchange for CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert, ending a long partnership between player and franchise that included an Eastern Conference finals appearance and a central role in reshaping the Hawks’ identity over the last decade.

That is what makes the home sale feel symbolic as much as practical. Athletes list houses for all kinds of reasons, but in this case the move fits neatly with the broader transition. Young is no longer just beginning a new chapter professionally; he appears to be clearing away one of the biggest remaining ties to the city where he became a star.
