Nick Young may be sitting on one of the most valuable pieces of Kobe Bryant memorabilia in existence.
During a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s *Club Shay Shay*, the former Los Angeles Lakers guard revealed that he has the basketball from Bryant’s unforgettable final NBA game – the night Kobe scored 60 points against the Utah Jazz on April 13, 2016.
Young said he managed to keep the ball from that night and has no illusions about what it could eventually be worth.
“I’m selling it, too,” Young said. Asked whether he would really part with it, he answered: “When I get a little low, I might. I’m glad I got it. It’s like a … it’s my 401K.”

Bryant’s farewell at Staples Center became one of the most memorable retirement games in sports history. He scored 60 points, including 23 in the fourth quarter, and helped the Lakers rally past Utah before delivering his famous “Mamba out” farewell at center court.
Young did not play in that game, but he was still with the team and inside the arena for Bryant’s final night. A day later, Young described the performance as something that “seemed like it was made up,” comparing it to the ending of a movie.
He also left the night with more than just the basketball.
Young said he collected other memorabilia and recalled trying to get Bryant to sign an old pair of Adidas Kobes. Bryant, by then synonymous with Nike, apparently wanted nothing to do with them and threw the shoes in the trash. That story was also reported immediately after Bryant’s final game in 2016.
