Jaylen Brown has already given Philadelphia 76ers fans one of the funniest moments of training camp, and he seems perfectly willing to laugh at himself over it.
During a team social-media challenge, 76ers players were asked to stop a digital timer at exactly three seconds. What they did not know was that the screen was actually displaying a pre-saved image reading “03:00,” guaranteeing that everyone would appear to hit the mark perfectly.
Brown’s reaction is what sent the clip viral. Convinced that he had timed it perfectly, the five-time All-Star confidently explained that his accuracy came down to something deeper than luck.
“It’s timing,” Brown said. “It’s like, this a divine thing, you know what I mean? You gotta be connected. They’re not connected like me. Right on the money.”
Seconds later, Brown was told the truth: there was no live timer. The screen had been fixed at three seconds the entire time.
76ers pranked Jaylen Brown with a screenshot of a timer on 3 seconds and JB thought he got it 😭💀
“It’s timing. It’s a divine thing. You gotta be connected. They’re not connected like me.”

His confidence immediately gave way to laughter, and the moment quickly spread across social media, with fans joking about how seriously Brown had analyzed what was ultimately an elaborate team prank.
Brown did not shy away from the reaction.
After seeing the clip circulate, he responded on X by leaning directly into his own comment, writing simply:
“It’s a divine thing.”
