Former NBA forward Glen “Big Baby” Davis said he is “back” after being released from prison on Thursday. TMZ reported the release and cited a video in which Davis said,
“They tried to hold me down,” before adding that he was back.
Davis had been sentenced in May 2024 to 40 months in federal prison after his conviction in a scheme involving the NBA Players’ Health and Welfare Benefit Plan. Davis was sentenced in New York and also received three years of supervised release, along with an order to pay restitution.
The case was part of a broader federal prosecution that involved more than 20 defendants, many of them former NBA players. Prosecutors said the scheme centered on false dental and medical claims submitted for reimbursement through the league’s benefit plan, with the overall fraud totaling more than $5 million.
