Luka Doncic is obviously one of the best players in the league and an offensive engine you can build around. Nobody questions that. But the flaws have always been part of the conversation.
Even with the Lakers firmly in the playoff race and Luka putting up MVP numbers, the complaints to referees and lackluster defense are still tough to ignore. Former NBA guard and current NBA analyst Jay Williams recently shared his take.
Williams recognized Luka’s talent and insane production but questioned whether his leadership and impact match it, pointing to what he described as losing habits.
“I think Luka is one of the more talented players I’ve ever seen, but I think he has losing habits. I think he has bad habits. His impact on the game is not aligned with the statistical output. You see crazy numbers, but I don’t know if it impacts winning. At some point, when you see him every play screaming at the refs and not even getting back in the frame defensively, I just don’t know if he’s the leader everybody projected him to be. I think he has bad habits.”
J Will believes Luka Doncic has ‘losing habits’ and doesn’t believe it’ll lead to a championship in his career:
