Ant-Man’s “White Boy Mount Rushmore” Is Basically A Pop-Culture Crossover Episode

Anthony Edwards has never sounded like he’s reading from a teleprompter, and that’s exactly why his latest viral moment is landing the way it is.

When Edwards was asked for his “Mount Rushmore of white boys,” he paused just long enough to treat the premise like a scouting report, and then immediately swerves into a list that belongs on a group chat thread titled “Wait, did he really say that?” The first name out is Justin Bieber, which already tells you we’re not doing a basketball-only exercise here… Confirmed by Timothée Chalamet as his next.

From there, Edwards leans fully into the bit, and into the culture. He includes “Peter Parker… Spider-Man,” with the kind of specificity that suggests he’s not talking about a vague comic-book concept, but a particular Spider-Man in his head. And then comes the hoops nod that makes the whole thing feel like Edwards saying, “Alright, I’ll give y’all one for real”: Jason Williams, a.k.a. “White Chocolate.”

The funniest part is that Edwards doesn’t even sound like he’s trying to be outrageous. He’s just building the list the same way he builds a game… fast, instinctive, and with total confidence in the moment, even if the geometry is a little unorthodox.

That’s the Edwards superpower off the court: he can turn a throwaway question into a miniature variety show.
