A Flock On The Feed: How Geese Hijacked Clippers–Wizards And Gave The NBA A Perfect Broadcast Blooper

The Los Angeles Clippers and Washington Wizards spent Monday afternoon playing a tight, physical game that came down to the final possessions. James Harden lived at the line, the Clippers survived late chaos, and the box score recorded a routine road win: Clippers 110, Wizards 106 at Capital One Arena.

What the box score can’t capture is the moment the broadcast briefly stopped being about basketball at all.

Somewhere in the late stages of the game, the Clippers’ TV call was interrupted by an unexpected cutaway: images of geese appeared on the broadcast, and the announcers, caught off guard, started laughing hard enough that it became the actual highlight for a slice of NBA social media.
