The Milwaukee Bucks are currently the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference at 11-15, and with that standing has come a familiar wave of trade rumors, particularly surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Trade rumors involving Antetokounmpo are nothing new, but this season has given them new life. As a result, teams are beginning to revisit what would still be considered a dream scenario.
Beyond the usual suspects, one team worth monitoring is the Minnesota Timberwolves. Sitting sixth in the Western Conference, the Wolves are not a slouch, but they also have not proven they can get over the hump. NBA insider Chris B. Haynes now mentioned them as potential suitors for the Bucks superstar.
“Knicks have interest in Giannis, Miami Heat have interest, Golden State has interest for years, Spurs, Timberwolves. For Giannis ultimately I think he’d like to have some sun and be in big market. He wants to compete for championship.”

Minnesota is not a traditional big-market team like some of the franchises mentioned by Chris Haynes. Still, when it comes to having a true centerpiece, the description of a “sun” fits Edwards rather neatly.
Edwards has grown into a reliable star in his own right. He is young, explosive, and capable of carrying a team on a given night, while also understanding when to lean on others. Pairing that perimeter pressure with Giannis’ interior dominance creates a theoretical balance that just makes sense.
Perhaps most telling, Giannis has said he likes Edwards as a player and praised his two-way play. That alone raises the question of whether Giannis might view Minnesota differently.
Per Sports24:
“My preference is two-way players. I like one player, Anthony Edwards. I like him a lot.”
