Shaquille O’Neal Thinks Austin Reaves Might Not Benefit From LeBron James’ Return

The Los Angeles Lakers are going strong this season at 10-4 in the Western Conference right now, and while Luka Doncic has been in MVP mode, Austin Reaves has been another major reason the team is holding its own this season.

After a quiet outing against Minnesota last postseason, Reaves has settled in and appears to have found a better rhythm this year. He has improved across the board, now averaging 28.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 8.2 assists on 48.2% shooting from the field.

Plenty of fans and analysts are impressed with Reaves so far, and NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal is one of them. But O’Neal does have one concern. He thinks Reaves might not keep this level of play once LeBron James, who hasn’t played a game this season, returns to the lineup.

“I kind of feel for Austin because he looks good and he’s playing well, but as soon as LeBron comes back he’s going to be reverted back to standing in the corner.”
