The Milwaukee Bucks have made their postgame prayer circle a staple of team culture, and they’re extending the invitation to opponents. After Sunday’s game against the Houston Rockets, NBA stars Kevin Durant, and Reed Sheppard joined Bucks players in a moment of prayer and reflection at center court.
The Bucks have quietly hosted a prayer circle after every game this season, regardless of outcome. The circle is a voluntary gathering where players bow their heads, give thanks, and share a moment of peace before leaving the arena.
What makes the tradition unique is its openness: opposing players are welcome to join. On Sunday night, cameras captured Durant and Sheppard stepping into the circle after a hard-fought 122–115 Rockets win at Fiserv Forum.

This is amazing, it’s so much bigger than basketball. 🙏❤️ pic.twitter.com/wis5k201hI

While religion and spirituality have long been part of NBA culture, few teams have made it such a visible and inclusive part of their postgame routine. The Bucks’ prayer circle is not mandatory, and players of all backgrounds are welcome.
Despite the spiritual unity postgame, the contest itself was intense. The Rockets overcame a 14-point deficit to defeat the Bucks 122–115. Durant led Houston with 31 points, while Sheppard added 16 off the bench. Giannis posted 37 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.
