Giannis Antetokounmpo dribbles the ball on the left wing beyond the three-point line. AJ Green sets a screen, forcing a switch between Pascal Siakam and Aaron Nesmith, so that the Greek superstar now has the latter as his opponent.
Giannis goes into the post-up, sets up for a fadeaway and sinks the ball over the outstretched arms of Isaiah Jackson as the final buzzer sounds. The Gainbridge Fieldhouse, which had become a real cauldron in the final minutes, suddenly fell silent.
It was the emotional end to an emotional evening.

With his last-second game winner, Antetokounmpo not only gave his team its fifth win of the season, but also gave Myles Turner a great deal of satisfaction. The Bucks’ newcomer was mercilessly and loudly booed by the home fans in his first appearance against his former employer.

The two-time MVP finished with 33 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists. Turner himself was rather lackluster on offense with nine points, but he more than made up for it with five blocks at the other end of the court. In terms of scoring, Giannis received support primarily from Kyle Kuzma (15 points), Green (13), Cole Anthony, and Gary Trent Jr. (11 each).
Pascal Siakam led the hosts’ offense with 32 points and eight assists. Jackson played strongly with 21 points and ten rebounds, Jarace Walker contributed 18 points, and Nesmith added 17. But in the end, head coach Rick Carlisle’s team suffered its sixth defeat of the season in seven games – leaving it stuck at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings alongside the Washington Wizards and Brooklyn Nets.
