In today’s NBA, even something as simple as a phone call can set the internet buzzing. That’s exactly what happened this week when Jaylen Brown went live and tried dialing several of his Boston Celtics teammates… only to be met with radio silence.
Brown, who recently changed his phone number, called five different teammates during the livestream. Not one picked up. While the star wing laughed it off, fans instantly began speculating about what it meant for Boston’s chemistry. Was this a subtle sign of locker room distance? Or just bad timing and an unrecognized caller ID?
Enter Jeff Teague.
The former Celtics guard, now known for his Club 520 podcast, decided to test the waters himself. On air, Teague rang up several NBA players, including PJ Tucker, Georges Niang, and Josh Okogie. Like Brown, he didn’t have much luck. Phones rang, went unanswered, and the awkward silence grew.
But then came Jayson Tatum.
When Teague dialed up the Celtics’ franchise cornerstone, Tatum answered almost immediately. The two exchanged a quick laugh, and Teague couldn’t help but gloat:
“Oh, we lit! I was the better teammate!” he joked after Tatum picked up.
Jeff Teague did the Jaylen Brown challenge and Jayson Tatum answered right away 💀
