Warriors Turned Down Kings’ Offer Of Malik Monk And A First-Round Pick For Jonathan Kuminga

There has been little to no action from the Golden State Warriors this offseason, and much of it is tied to Jonathan Kuminga’s unresolved future. The situation leaves fans divided on where this ends.

A trade is one way out. The Warriors could turn Kuminga into a roster fit that eases their cap, while the 22-year-old forward could find a team prepared to make him a centerpiece rather than a bargaining chip. After all, both sides may need a fresh start to move forward.

However, it is not that easy. The Warriors have shown no signs of softening their demands. Phoenix showed interest, and even Sacramento’s offer of Monk and a first-round pick was not enough to shift the team’s stance.

Per ESPN

“The Warriors had shut down sign-and-trades, steadfast all offseason in declining frameworks of Royce O’Neale and second-round compensation from the Phoenix Suns or Malik Monk and a future first-round pick from the Sacramento Kings,” Charania reports.
