Stephen Curry, the four-time NBA champion and Golden State Warriors icon, is stepping into a new arena: technology. In a landmark move announced at the 2025 Made by Google event, Curry has signed on as Google’s official Performance Advisor in a long-term partnership that spans Google Health, Pixel, and Google Cloud.

The collaboration marks a fusion of elite athletic insight and cutting-edge innovation, with Curry bringing his performance philosophy to the forefront of AI-powered wellness tools.

For Curry, the role is far more than a brand endorsement. It’s a hands-on commitment to shaping the future of health tech.

“Just the idea that I could be a sounding board and a part of a thought partner, and what they have in the pipeline from Google Health’s perspective is exciting,” Curry said in an exclusive interview with Boardroom. “Whether on or off the court, I’m focused on leveling up, sustaining my career, and carrying those priorities forward long after basketball.”

Curry and his team of performance experts are already working directly with Google engineers to test new products, refine algorithms, and advise on wearable innovations. He’s using real-time data from devices like the Fitbit Charge 6 to monitor heart rate, sleep, and movement during workouts, tools that now inform his training and recovery. These same insights are being used to develop features for everyday users, making elite-level feedback accessible to all.

One standout example is Google Cloud’s AI Basketball Coach, powered by Gemini, which debuted at Curry Camp, his annual training clinic for top high school athletes. The tool offers form analysis, visual feedback, and personalized coaching tips, giving young players a glimpse into how AI can elevate their game.

Beyond performance, Curry is integrating Google’s tech into his community initiatives, including the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation and the Underrated Golf Tour. His goal is to make wellness tools approachable and impactful for everyone, not just professional athletes.

Rick Osterloh, Google’s Senior Vice President of Platforms and Devices, praised the partnership:

“Stephen is bringing his expertise to help us build products for everyone—and also find unique ways that he can use them to improve his game.”

With Curry’s influence, Google is positioning itself at the intersection of sports, health, and AI. It’s a collaboration that could redefine how athletes, and everyday users, approach performance, longevity, and well-being.
