Marselles Brown, the father of Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following a violent altercation in Las Vegas. According to reports from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and confirmed by multiple outlets, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening at All American Park, where Brown allegedly stabbed a youth football coach during a dispute over a parking space.

Authorities say the confrontation began as a verbal argument between Brown and the coach, escalating quickly into physical violence. Witnesses reported that Brown stabbed the victim in the stomach before fleeing the scene. Emergency responders transported the coach to a nearby hospital, where he underwent surgery. His current condition has not been publicly disclosed.

Brown, 57, was later tracked down and taken into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday afternoon to face formal charges.

Marselles Brown is a retired professional boxer who debuted in 1989 and compiled a career record of 33–18–1, including 25 knockouts. His last fight was nearly a decade ago. Despite his athletic background, Brown has largely remained out of the public eye in recent years.

Sources close to the situation indicate that Jaylen Brown was unaware of the incident at the time of his father’s arrest and that the two do not maintain a close relationship.

Legal experts say Brown could face significant prison time if convicted, with attempted murder in Nevada carrying a potential sentence of up to 20 years depending on the circumstances and the victim’s recovery.
