Stephen Curry Unfazed By Warriors’ Quiet Offseason: “We Know How To Prepare Through Uncertainty”

While Golden State Warriors fans grow increasingly restless over the team’s lack of offseason moves, franchise icon Stephen Curry remains calm and confident.

Speaking at his annual Curry Camp, the four-time NBA champion addressed the team’s stagnant summer and the unresolved contract situation with forward Jonathan Kuminga, offering reassurance that the veteran core is ready to lead.

“The veteran presence that we have… me, Jimmy [Butler], Draymond [Green], we understand how to prepare through that uncertainty and hit the ground running in training camp knowing we should have some movement by then,” Curry told reporters.

The Warriors are the only team in the NBA that hasn’t made a single roster addition this offseason. With Kuminga’s contract negotiations still unresolved, the front office has been unable to finalize deals with free agents like Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton. Despite the gridlock, Curry emphasized that the team’s identity, forged during a strong finish to last season, remains intact.

“My confidence is built on the identity we were able to create over the last third of the regular season last year,” Curry said. “We have a really good team, and we do know we need some pieces to help get us to the next level”.

After acquiring Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline, the Warriors surged to a 23–7 record with him on the floor and reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Curry missed part of that series due to a hamstring strain, but the team’s chemistry and resilience left him optimistic heading into the 2025–26 campaign.

“You control what you can control,” Curry added. “No matter how many new experiences you have or whatever the differences of this offseason versus previous ones, you don’t let it affect your own personal preparation for the season”.

With training camp set to begin on September 29, the Warriors have just weeks to resolve the Kuminga situation and solidify their roster.
