Every year, we inch closer to the finish line for LeBron James. The four-time NBA champion turns 41 this year and is about to begin his 23rd season in the league. He has outrun Father Time longer than anyone, but the clock always wins. The real question is, when does it all come to an end?
It’s no secret that LeBron is still chasing championships. The Los Angeles Lakers moved a step closer to that goal this offseason by making some solid signings. Would LeBron walk away if he wins one more title? Would he retire even if he falls short again? Or will he keep going regardless?
LeBron has admitted he could keep playing for a few more years, though it’s not something he’s fully committed to do. At the same time, he hasn’t made any announcement about retiring soon. So the speculation continues.
For ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, this could very well be LeBron’s final season in the NBA.
“I think we have to start thinking about this could be his last year in the league.”
