Jalen Green Embraces Fresh Start With Devin Booker In Phoenix: “We Gon’ Shock The World”

Jalen Green isn’t just changing teams—he’s changing the narrative.

After being traded from the Houston Rockets to the Phoenix Suns in a blockbuster deal that sent Kevin Durant the other way, Green is stepping into a new chapter with confidence, swagger, and a clear message: he and Devin Booker are ready to surprise everyone.

“I feel good. I’m excited,” Green told reporters during Summer League in Las Vegas. “I think it’s gonna be lit. I bet he’s gon’ kill. We gon’ shock the world”.

Green, 23, spent four seasons in Houston as the centerpiece of a rebuild, but his time there ended amid trade rumors and playoff struggles. Despite averaging 21.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists last season, the Rockets opted to move on, packaging him with Dillon Brooks and draft picks to acquire Durant. Green admitted the trade “hurt,” calling Houston “home,” but he’s already locked in on what’s next.

Now in Phoenix, Green joins Booker—fresh off signing a two-year, $145 million extension—as part of a revamped backcourt that blends youth, scoring, and ambition. With Bradley Beal likely on the way out and a new head coach in Jordan Ott, the Suns are betting on upside and chemistry.

Green sees the pairing as a perfect storm.

“Me and him both, it’s going to be a deadly scoring duo, no matter what the situation is,” he said. “We are two people who know how to score the basketball, we are two people who know how to attract the defense… you have to pick who you want to score tonight”.

While skeptics question whether two score-first guards can coexist, Green is embracing the challenge. His confidence, combined with Booker’s proven leadership, could give Phoenix the spark it needs to climb back into contention.
