Jordan Poole’s Unfiltered Reaction To Kevon Looney Joining Pelicans Caught On Video: “Elite Duo Right Here!”

Looney, known for his rebounding and screen-setting, was often the quiet anchor behind Poole’s explosive scoring bursts. Now, that synergy is set to return, this time in the Big Easy.

Jordan Poole was in the middle of a workout when the news broke, and his reaction was pure, unfiltered joy. Cameras inside the training facility captured the exact moment Poole learned that his former Golden State Warriors teammate, Kevon Looney, had signed a two-year, $16 million deal with the team. What followed was a celebration that felt more like a reunion than a roster update.

“We did it! Get the video right now! A lot of reaction! KL5! Yeah! Let’s go!” Poole shouted, visibly hyped. “Elite Duo right here. Y’all don’t understand. This is Elite Duo right here. KL5 is going to get me right. Back to it. We’re working on this right now. It’s fire! I’m so happy, bro”.

The two were teammates in Golden State from 2019 to 2023, sharing a championship run in 2022 and building a chemistry that extended beyond the court. Looney, known for his rebounding and screen-setting, was often the quiet anchor behind Poole’s explosive scoring bursts. Now, that synergy is set to return, this time in the Big Easy.

Poole didn’t stop at the training facility. He took to Instagram to share ESPN’s report on Looney’s signing, captioning it with a simple but emphatic:

“Omg!!! It’s so lit”.

The Pelicans have been aggressive this offseason, acquiring Poole from Washington and now adding Looney to bolster their frontcourt. With Zion Williamson, Herb Jones, and Saddiq Bey already in place, the team is banking on chemistry and championship experience to elevate their playoff hopes.
