Just six months after tying the knot, Dwight Howard’s wife, Amber Rose Howard. known professionally as rapper and reality TV personality Amy Luciani, has filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and requesting alimony.
According to court documents filed on July 1 in Georgia, Luciani declared the marriage “irretrievably broken” with “no prospects for reconciliation.” The filing also included a mutual restraining order, originally entered in January, now reactivated as part of the legal proceedings.
The couple’s relationship had been a whirlwind from the start. They went public in December 2024 with a surprise engagement announcement on Instagram, followed by a private wedding ceremony on January 11, 2025.
Luciani, who starred in Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta and released her debut album Amy’s World in 2023, has since removed all social media posts featuring Howard. Her recent Instagram stories have hinted at emotional turmoil, including cryptic quotes like “Remember if God brought you to it, He will bring you through it” and “The longer you entertain what’s not for you, the longer you postpone what is”.
Howard, 39, has yet to publicly comment on the divorce. He currently plays for the LA Riot in Ice Cube’s BIG3 League and was recently seen vacationing in Jamaica during the league’s bye week. The former NBA champion and eight-time All-Star has had a colorful post-NBA career, including stints in Taiwan, appearances on Dancing With the Stars, and a role in Fox’s Special Forces competition series.
This was Howard’s most public relationship since his split from WNBA star Te’a Cooper in 2021. Between 2007 and 2013, he fathered five children with five different women, and in 2020, he gained primary custody of one son following the death of the child’s mother.
