Dallas Mavericks Would Reportedly Only Be Interested In LeBron James Under One Condition

There’s no indication that LeBron James has locked himself into ending his career with the Los Angeles Lakers. Rich Paul’s comments about LeBron’s focus on winning open up the possibility that he could explore something new if the Lakers fall short.

At this moment, all signs point to LeBron staying with the Lakers to start the season. According to Paul, the LeBron and the Lakers haven’t discussed any trade possibilities, but that hasn’t stopped four teams from making their own inquiries.

Following those developments, the Mavericks have come up in speculation as a possible landing spot for LeBron, especially with the idea of reuniting him with Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving. Still, NBA reporter Dave McMenamin reported that Dallas would only be interested in the Lakers superstar under one condition.

“Dallas—I’m told—they would only be interested in LeBron in a buyout situation.”
