The 2025 NBA Draft Lottery is set to take place tonight in Chicago, determining the fate of 14 teams that missed the playoffs. While the postseason continues for the league’s elite, franchises at the bottom of the standings are hoping for a stroke of luck—one that could land them the No. 1 overall pick and a potential franchise-altering talent in a stacked year.

The NBA Draft Lottery is designed to give the league’s worst teams a chance at securing a top pick while preventing outright tanking. The lottery determines the top four picks, while the remaining selections (5-14) are assigned based on regular-season records.

Each team is assigned odds based on their finish in the standings, with the three worst teams receiving an equal 14.0% chance at landing the No. 1 pick.

Here are the official odds for each team in tonight’s lottery:

Team Record Win % Odds for No. 1 Pick
Utah Jazz 17-65 .207 14.0%
Washington Wizards 18-64 .220 14.0%
Charlotte Hornets 19-63 .232 14.0%
New Orleans Pelicans 21-61 .256 12.5%
Philadelphia 76ers 24-58 .293 10.5%
Brooklyn Nets 26-56 .317 9.0%
Toronto Raptors 30-52 .366 7.5%
San Antonio Spurs 34-48 .415 6.0%
Phoenix Suns (Pick to Houston) 36-46 .439 3.8%
Portland Trail Blazers 36-46 .439 3.7%
Dallas Mavericks 39-43 .476 1.8%
Chicago Bulls 39-43 .476 1.7%
Sacramento Kings (Pick to Atlanta) 40-42 .488 0.8%
Atlanta Hawks (Pick to San Antonio) 40-42 .488 0.7%

The prize of the 2025 NBA Draft is Cooper Flagg, the standout freshman from Duke. Widely regarded as a generational talent. His ability to impact both ends of the floor makes him the consensus top prospect, and whichever team wins the lottery will likely select him.

While the lottery determines the draft order, it doesn’t necessarily mean teams will keep their picks. The Philadelphia 76ers’ pick is protected 1-6, meaning if it falls outside that range, it will be conveyed to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Similarly, the Sacramento Kings’ pick is protected 1-12, meaning if it lands at 13 or 14, it will go to the Atlanta Hawks.

Additionally, the Houston Rockets will receive the Phoenix Suns’ pick, regardless of where it lands.

The NBA Draft Lottery will air on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET, just before Game 4 between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics. Once the lottery results are revealed, teams will begin preparing for the NBA Draft on June 25-26, where the future of the league will take shape.
