The Minnesota Timberwolves are taking action following a disturbing incident during Game 2 of their Western Conference Semifinals matchup against the Golden State Warriors. Warriors forward Draymond Green was reportedly subjected to racial abuse from fans at Target Center, prompting the Timberwolves organization to launch an investigation into the matter.
According to reports, two fans directed a racial slur at Green while he was on a stationary bike near the Warriors’ tunnel, staying warm during gameplay. The behavior was captured on video and quickly gained traction on social media, sparking widespread outrage.
One of the fans was ejected from the arena, while the second individual reportedly left before they could be identified. The Timberwolves have since confirmed that they are still searching for the second fan involved in the incident.
The Timberwolves issued a statement condemning the behavior and reaffirming their commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment at their games.
“The team is continuing to investigate, and additional action may be taken. The Timberwolves and Target Center are firmly committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and safe environment for all. Racist, hateful, or threatening behavior has no place at our games or in our community and will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” the statement read.

The Timberwolves are expected to take further action once their investigation is complete. If the second fan is identified, they could face consequences similar to past incidents where individuals responsible for racist remarks have been banned from NBA arenas.
