Ty Lue Hasn’t Made Offseason Plans After Game 7 Loss: “I Was Thinking About OKC”

The Los Angeles Clippers just couldn’t get the edge, dropping the decisive Game 7 to the Denver Nuggets, 120-101. A brutal finish for a team that once held a 2-1 series lead and home-court advantage to close things out.

The offseason arrives with more questions than answers. And while head coach Ty Lue should have been turning the page and mapping out what was next for the team and potentially for himself, he admitted that his mind was still on the second-round matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder that never came.

“I haven’t thought about the offseason. To be honest, I was thinking about OKC.”

It might’ve been confidence that had Lue looking ahead to OKC, but in hindsight, his focus should’ve been on containing, ironically, Russell Westbrook. Regardless, the Clippers are facing a crucial summer. While they’re not keen on blowing things up, the Leonard era has undeniably fallen short of expectations.

As for Lue, he still enjoys respect around the league, and there’s not much indication the Clippers are considering a coaching change. Still, the disappointment of this playoff exit has fueled frustration among fans, many of whom are now calling for his firing. For now, fans can only wait and see how things unfold this offseason.
