Ja Morant and his daughter Kaari were courtside at a Memphis Hustle G League game, cheering on Japanese rookie sensation Yuki Kawamura. The game, which saw the Hustle narrowly lose 121-119 to the Salt Lake City Stars, was made memorable by Kaari’s enthusiastic support for Kawamura—a player she has clearly taken a liking to.
Kaari was waving a flag adorned with Kawamura’s picture and jersey number. Her presence didn’t go unnoticed by Kawamura, who expressed his gratitude and admiration after the game.
“I love it. She brings the energy every G League game and NBA game. We couldn’t win for her tonight. I was disappointed in the result.”
Despite his impressive performance of 16 points and 15 assists, Kawamura admitted he was disappointed not to secure a win for Kaari.
She’s my GOAT. (Kaari) is my GOAT,” Kawamura said, highlighting the unique connection.
Ja Morant, who has been a vocal supporter of Kawamura, looked on proudly as his daughter cheered with unbridled enthusiasm.
