The Luka Doncic Foundation has announced a generous donation of $500,000 to support the wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles. The donation aims to aid immediate recovery efforts and help rebuild courts, playgrounds, and fields that were destroyed in the recent wildfires.

Doncic, who recently joined the Los Angeles Lakers, expressed his deep concern for the affected families and children.

“It’s been so sad to see and learn more about the damage from the wildfires since I landed in LA,” Dončić said in a statement. “I can’t believe it and I feel for all the kids who lost their homes, schools, and the places where they used to play with their friends. Today, my foundation is donating $500,000 to immediate recovery efforts. I am also committed to helping rebuild courts, playgrounds, and fields that were destroyed, because every kid needs a safe place to play.”

The recent wildfires have caused widespread devastation, burning thousands of acres and destroying numerous homes and structures. The economic loss is estimated to be between $250 billion and $275 billion, and the fires have affected hundreds of thousands of people across multiple parts of Los Angeles County.

Doncic’s donation is part of a broader effort by the Lakers organization and other community members to support wildfire relief. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, Lakers head coach JJ Redick and several NBA players, including Chris Paul, Victor Wembanyama, and Stephen Curry, have also contributed to the cause. The focus is on providing immediate aid and ensuring that children have safe places to play and rebuild their lives.

Despite being new to Los Angeles, Doncic has quickly embraced his role in the community and shown his commitment to making a positive impact.
