Former NBA star Nate Robinson, known for his incredible athleticism and winning the NBA Slam Dunk Contest three times, has successfully undergone a kidney transplant after battling renal failure for the past seven years.

Robinson, who played 11 seasons in the NBA with teams like the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and Chicago Bulls, first learned about his kidney issues nearly 20 years ago. Over the years, he has undergone regular dialysis treatments, sometimes experiencing painful vomiting and hospitalizations. Despite these challenges, Robinson remained grateful for the treatments that kept him alive.

On Friday, Robinson received a new kidney from a live donor at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. The transplant surgery lasted several hours but was a success. Before the procedure, Robinson expressed his gratitude on Instagram, thanking God and everyone who supported him through prayers and encouragement.

“I’m here to celebrate and thank the LORD for all he has done in my life. Today is the day I get my new kidney, thank you to all the people that sent prayers and texted my phone giving me encouragement & love!!! Ur a foo if you don’t believe in GOD and the miracles he performs !! Amen!”

Throughout his health struggles, Robinson has used his platform to raise awareness about kidney disease and inspire others facing similar challenges. His resilience and positive attitude have been a source of motivation for many.
