After the Golden State Warriors’ 131-106 win over the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night, rookie Quinten Post shared an epic story, when he recounted an incident from earlier in the season when NBA legend Steph Curry came to his rescue after a challenging road trip.
Post described the situation during a postgame press conference.
“A few months ago, we came home from a long road trip. It was around 2:30 am, and we were at the airport,” Post recalled. “I was trying to get an Uber to go home, but the Uber service wasn’t working.”
Despite reassurances from his teammates that he would be fine, Post found himself without a ride. Enter Steph Curry, who noticed the rookie’s predicament and offered to help.
“Steph walked by and asked if I was okay,” Post said. “I told him I was trying to get an Uber, and he responded, ‘I got you.'”
Curry’s gesture was far from ordinary. The NBA superstar took a detour from his own commute, taking Post home despite the late hour.
“It probably took 20 minutes out of Steph’s way, but that just shows the type of person he is. Out of everyone at the airport, he was the last person who needed to worry about me,” Post said with a smile.
