Jamal Crawford carved out a distinguished NBA career, winning three Sixth Man of the Year awards and earning respect across the league. Among those who admired his game was none other than Michael Jordan.

During his appearance on “Podcast P,” Crawford shared an incredible story from draft day involving Jordan. Crawford revealed that his father was the one to break the news that Jordan liked his game. Soon after, Crawford connected directly with Jordan, who personally echoed the sentiment and extended an invite to work out, an impactful moment for Crawford before his NBA career began.

Crawford ultimately landed with the Chicago Bulls in the 2000 NBA Draft, but by then, Jordan was already with the Washington Wizards, so they never had a chance to team up. Still, Jordan’s admiration for Crawford didn’t fade, with Crawford revealing that Jordan even tried to trade for him later on.

While the trade never happened, it showed the level of respect Jordan had for Crawford’s talent.

“He was so cold, bro. I went to his house, played with him there, and he showed me around his house. Like, he really invested in me. He even tried to trade for me. Yeah, he even got my eye doctor for LASIK surgery. He’s the one that told me to go get it done. I flew to Alabama because that’s where Dr. Andrews was at the time, back when he wasn’t the big Dr. Andrews we all know now. He did my surgery.”
